Website management
Small business websites are direct response marketing tools. They should serve a single purpose: to get people to take action. If yours doesn’t do that, it isn’t working for you. I’ve designed a 10-point website management program to help turn ailing websites into online marketing wonders. With plans starting at just £45 per month, with no long-term obligation, this is a marketing expense your company can afford. I’ve included the following services:
Content updates
Adding new content to your website is a chore, but it’s the best way to attract more visitors and keep them coming back for more. I’ll check your content for spelling and grammatical errors, and upload it to your website. You can ask me to make changes to existing pages or add new pages. Simply email me your content, tell me where it needs to go and I’ll add it within 48-hours (if it’s urgent let me know and it’ll be done the same day).

Website statistics
Do you know how many people visited your website this month? How about where they came from, what pages of your website they viewed or what they searched for to find your website? If you don’t know, it’s probably because your website stats are just too complicated. I provide you an easy-to-read monthly website statistics report showing you all the information you need to know in plain English, with easy to understand graphs.

Website backup
Even though your hosting company is probably quite reliable, you never know what might happen (and it does happen). So I make a manual backup of your website and any databases you have on a weekly basis, and I store it in a secure, off-site location. And in the event that your host does crash/lose/destroy your website, you’ll be up and running again in no time.

Technical maintenance
You’d be amazed at how much behind the scenes work can be done to improve your website. When necessary, I make changes to image compression, check and repair dead links and make changes to your code structure. Hardly the most exciting part of website maintenance, but if it can help your pages load quicker and perform better, it gets done.

Online marketing support
Whether you’ve been toying with the idea of implementing an e-commerce system, a forum, a blog or a newsletter marketing campaign, I’ll research the best options available for your application and report back on the costs and implementation options. For companies exploring the idea of banner advertising or pay-per-click advertising campaigns, I’ll manage your campaign and monitor your advertising results.
Design tweaks
The thing with websites is that they tend to date relatively quickly. A new design today will look outdated in a year’s time. To keep your site looking fresh and clean, I make constant changes to your design. Of course, your website isn’t just about good looks. I ensure that your pages keep up with current Web standards, making your website accessible to all users all the time.

Page optimization
Chances are that most of the pages on your website have been poorly constructed for search engine optimization. Does each page cover a specific topic? Is the META information correct for each page? Are there enough instances of well-chosen long-tail keywords to satisfy search engines and increase page relevance? Does the page read well for real people? If you can’t answer ‘yes’ to all these questions, I can make your pages perform better.

Link building
If there’s one thing search engines like more than fresh, original website content, it’s a large number of relevant links pointing to your website. I use a combination of approved online directories, forums, blogs and industry websites to increase the number and quality of links to your web pages to increase your company’s search engine rankings and online visibility.

Search Engine Optimization
Many SEO specialists would like to make you think that Search Engine Optimization is an art. It isn’t. But ranking your website as high as possible on search engines takes a lot of work and a clear understanding of your online marketing objectives. I don’t, and won’t do any unethical SEO on a client website. The risks of being banned by a search engine are too high. Besides, there’s no reason to cheat when you know what you’re doing.

Performance reporting
At the end of each month, I send you a summary of what’s been happening on your website over the past 30 days. I outline what I’ve done to your website, summarize your website statistics and make recommendations for search engine optimization and site changes. If there’s anything interesting going on in the Internet industry and it affects your business, I’ll keep you posted on that too.
