Osmotic – An exclusive skin for Thesis

That’s all folks! Osmotic is sold out. A huge thank you to all the people who put their faith in this design. I’ve already seen a bunch of them, and they’re looking great. Check back soon for the next Limited Edition skin, scheduled for release by mid-March 2010

I don’t know about you, but when I see the phrase ‘premium theme’ I kind of expect that it’s also going to be a ‘limited edition‘ or even ‘exclusive‘ theme. Sadly, when it comes to the WordPress Premium themes market, this isn’t true.

Or is it?

Introducing Osmotic, my first Thesis skin that is both Premium and Limited. In fact, it’s so limited that only 25 people are going to be able to buy it. What this means is that once you buy Osmotic, there’ll never be more than 24 other people with the same skin as yours. Cool, huh?

I also wanted to make Osmotic a turnkey solution, because nobody likes messing with code unless they have to. So I’m offering the complete skin, INSTALLED ON YOUR THESIS THEME FRAMEWORK, for just $99. This means that once you place your order, all you need to do is sit back while I install, setup and tweak your Osmotic skin for you. Perfect!

Osmotic Features

  • Osmotic is based on the 960 grid system. For that reason the container and main content areas have fixed widths.
  • The standard template contains a sidebar option, but you can easily remove the sidebars on any Page using the WordPress Template dropdown menu. This allows for a full-width Page, ideal for displaying portfolio pages or using Osmotic as a company CMS.
  • I’ve added a Recent Posts system to the Thesis Multimedia Box area. This pulls ‘x’ number of recent posts from your blog and uses the Thesis Thumbnail image feature to display a 40×40 pixel image next to each post excerpt.
  • The default setup uses 2 sidebars, with a custom full-width widget beneath the sidebars for advertising banners, newsletter signups, or whatever you’d like to display.
  • Just in case that’s not enough widget positions for you, the Osmotic footer features 3 more widget positions. This is ideal for displaying feeds from Twitter, Flickr or your subscription options.
  • The Osmotic color scheme is also customizable using the Thesis Design Options page (and a bit of tweaking if you’d like to use a background gradient/image like I have in the demo site).

Installation – what you get

If you don’t yet have WordPress and/or Thesis installed on your website, you need them to run Osmotic. I’ll also need your FTP details and WordPress login info.

Installation includes uploading Osmotic’s custom files/images to your Thesis installation, setting up your Thesis Options and Thesis Design Options panels to display the theme correctly, and adding/modifying your widgets to suit the theme. If you’ve got a logo image I’ll also add that to the site for you.

If you want some customization of the look & feel of Osmotic or some added functionality, this isn’t included in my installation. But I’ll gladly quote you to do the added work on an hourly basis.

Updates & Support

I’d love for Osmotic to be perfect from the get-go. But I’m sure there will be a few cross-browser issues here and there. Don’t panic. As soon as any updates are required I’ll let you know and we’ll sort them out together. Likewise, if the next WordPress/Thesis update causes any problems, they’ll be fixed. Free of charge.

What next?

If you’d like to be the proud owner of a truly Premium Thesis skin, simply place your order using the Buy Now button below. Once you’ve placed your order you’ll receive an email asking for your WordPress login details and FTP information (I haven’t automated this function yet, so it may take a few hours. Please be patient.)
