Osmotic Skin Release – Finally

by Dave on January 26, 2010

in Blog

If you’re a Thesis user and you’ve been looking for a premium skin that’s a bit special, allow me introduce you to Osmotic.

Built on Thesis as a clean blog skin, Osmotic has a bunch of added features and loads of prettiness.

And it’s only available to 25 people. That’s right. I’ve always felt that designing a premium skin, then selling 500 copies kind of makes it, un-premium.

So I’ve capped the number of people who can buy a single user license for Osmotic to just 25. Nice!

Of course this means you’re going to have to pay a little bit extra for all this Osmotic goodness. I’ve fixed the price at $99, but to sweeten the deal and stop you all whining about my attempts to plunder your childrens’ inheritances, I’m also throwing in installation of the skin on your Thesis theme. Even nicer!

Anyway, enough banter. Head over to the Osmotic sales page (HINT: you should click the ‘Buy Now’ button while you’re there) to see what features are in store, or take a look at the Osmotic demo I’ve got running on a test server. Then, tell everyone about it because if I don’t manage to sell 25 copies of the skin I WON’T BE MAKING ANY MORE – and my children will need to take to the streets to forage for food & water!

Happy shopping!

About Dave

Hello. I'm Dave, and I built the Thesis skin you're looking at right now. Why? Because along with PSD to Thesis services, that's what I do. I'm also a lousy poker player. Follow me on Twitter if you're feeling brave, or bored.

The Osmotic skin for Thesis looks great. I do not mean to criticise you work, but you do know your theme costs more than the personal option of the Thesis theme itself ($99 vs $87), don’t you? I don’t have a lot of experience with marketing child themes, but I do wish you good luck with that.

Thanks for the comment Stijn. I agree that on top of an $87 price tag, another $99 may sound steep. But compare that to the price of a custom built skin, or hiring someone to customize Thesis to your liking, and it’s a bargain. Especially since installation and setup are included.

I have to agree with Dave on this. A well-designed custom skin is not cheap and limiting the number of sales gives you a fairly unique skin at a great price. If the design fits your site and your goals I think it is a great deal. Great job Dave!

Sold out in under a month. I’ve gotta say, Dave, I did not think you could pull it off. But you did. I’m glad that I can still be surprised by online entrepreneurship and will take it into account for future endeavours. I hope your next theme proves equally profitable — I have no doubt the design will live up to the expectations anyway.

I’m immediately a fan of anyone who uses Caecilia to brand their Thesis skin. Then again, I’m a typeface whore, and I’m easy :D

Really nice work, Dave. The Osmotic layout is clean, intelligent, and really well-executed. Also, I am intrigued by the hybrid full-width/page-style design…it seems counter intuitive, but when you see it here, it’s oh so right. You’ll sell out by Friday, if not sooner!

Hey thanks for stopping by Chris. I really appreciate the comment. Wanna buy a copy? Nah, don’t suppose so…

Dave, copy number 7 of your elegant Osmotic will soon grace a new domain and wear a pearsonified ‘oh so right’ badge with pride.
I had been tossing around design ideas for a particular site for a few months and dreading the cost to have it coded. Then with Osmotic’s limited edition product launch on 4 Feb at ThesisThemes and live demo it was a no brainer that this was a gift solution to my creative woes.
Dave, thanks for your design, coding and more than fair price for a quality product and promise of follow up support.
Btw, I’m a total sucker for scarcity (MH) and beautiful skins (DW) so put me on your harassment list for further releases, regards Scotty

Please e-mail me if you design more, I need a new design!

Dave February 16, 2010 at 12:02 pm

Hi Amanda, thanks for stopping by. There’s a new skin release scheduled for March, so stay tuned.

Scotty Walker February 16, 2010 at 12:45 pm

…..email me first, actually just add the theme to my thesisthemes account and send me a PayPal request for money.

Osmotic has been so just right for my site’s message that I even kept the cars as they perfectly resonate the tone that I need for a hot prospect perfectly. Osmotic delivered the impression that counted for the site, hey I even received praise for my (tks Dave) creativity from my JV partners.

Dave, thanks again for Osmotic and book me in a copy of the new skin in Mar (just in case I’m not tuned), /r Scotty

Dave – Mate I landed on the page and was instantly impress so I bought the theme. But there is a problem with the download link. I have also sent through the info for the install but then had a hunt around only to find that it has been sold out.

My bad didn’t realize but maybe you should consider disabling the link so others don’t get caught out as well. Shame it looked like a very impressive skin.

I have sent you an email.
