FAQ’s

Of course you have questions. Everyone wants to make sure they can trust their service provider, especially when it comes to managing something as important as their business website.

I’ve tried to answer my most frequently asked questions below. If you can’t find an answer to your question here, please contact me directly.

Q: What information do you need from me to maintain my website?

A: In order to give you a quote for your website maintenance, I need to know what you want me to do for you.

For content changes I’ll need an electronic copy of the content. For programming or Internet marketing services I’ll need a detailed outline of your requirements. Don’t worry if you don’t know the technical jargon. As long as you can explain your needs clearly I’ll understand.

Once you’ve got your information gathered, simply email thinkdave@gmail.com and I’ll start working on a quote. If you would like to ask questions first I’m available either by email or on Skype (user: thinkdave) during business hours.

Q: What technical information will you need from me?

A: To work on your website I will need your FTP account information and your database hosting information (if you have a database). All of this information is freely available from your website host.

Obviously I’ll only need this information once you’ve accepted my quote.

Q: I’m happy with your quote. What do I do next?

A: Simply email me with your confirmation and I’ll get started on your web site changes. Depending on the scope of work, your changes should be complete within two to four working days.

Q: Do you make live changes to my website for all my customers to see?

A: No. I make changes locally on my own computer and upload them to a secure server for you to see. Once you’re happy and you’ve made payment, I’ll either send you the files or upload them to your website for you (you can decide).

Q: Will my updated website look correct on all computers and in all Internet browsers?

A: Yes. I test all changes on the most popular browsers for PC and Mac, ensuring the site works correctly across all platforms.

Q: What payment options do you offer?

A: For pay-as-you-go website maintenance, you pay on completion of the project, either by direct transfer or by credit card through Google Checkout.

For retainer based web site management clients, payment is monthly, in advance, either by direct transfer or by credit card through Google Checkout.

Q: Can you host my website?

A: I do offer free web hosting for small websites, but I don’t host larger corporate sites. In the case of larger sites, I am able to recommend great hosting in the UK and US though. Please contact me with your requirements and I’ll gladly assist.

Q: Do you offer Internet marketing services?

A: Yes. In addition to my website maintenance services and retainer website management services, I also offer Google Analytics installations, WordPress blog installations, blog consulting, PPC advertising campaign management, Email marketing and Web design services. Contact me for more information.
