thinkdave.com featured on CSSmania

After trying to get listed on CSSmania for about 6 months, and I’ve finally made it!

If you’re visiting from CSSmania, enjoy your 2 seconds on my site. If don’t know what CSSmania is, it’s a showcase of websites built using (almost in my case) valid XHTML/CSS. Some of the world’s best designs are featured on the site, so it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re planning a new website for your business.

I don’t think that a CSSmania listing is quite as spectacular as it was a couple of years ago, but it’s still nice to see that my work is good enough to be featured.

Incidentally, my site is running a modified version of the VibrantCMS theme by Woothemes, so they deserve a lot of the credit for it. Thanks guys.

I’m hiring

Along with the new site design and my new pricing structure, I’ve decided to bite the bullet and find someone to help me grow this business.

So, I’m hiring. For the time being I would like to hire a freelancer for 5-10 hours a month to help me with website coding, but this will hopefully result in a full-time position within the next 12 months.

Here’s what you need to be able to do if you want to sign up:

  1. HTML/CSS (standards compliant design only please)
  2. Javascript
  3. PHP, ASP and database coding knowledge
  4. A good understanding of E-commerce
  5. SEO skills

You’ll be called on to maintain client sites (working to a deadline) and to help with WordPress/Joomla or static site coding when required. If you have the ability to write, you may also want to contribute to my blog.

Because it’s likely that this will end up being a full time position you need to be based in North Yorkshire to apply for this position.

If this sounds like something that interests you, please email your CV and some work examples to thinkdave@gmail.com and we’ll take it from there.

Ta da!

I’ve just launched a brand new re-design of the thinkdave.com website, and I must say that I think it looks great. The design is based on a Woothemes WordPress theme with a fair amount of customization.

Along with the re-design, I’ve changed my pricing structure and the way I offer my services as well. I’ll offer some more in-depth explanations soon, but right now I need to check for bugs, broken links and all those other fun problems that crop up when you re-design your website.
