Affinity – A FREE Thesis Skin

January 11, 2011 · 7 comments

Update (03-01-2012): I have temporarily removed the Affinity skin as it needs a major update. It will be re-released in coming months as a premium theme/skin. Thanks for your interest.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned I was planning on releasing a new skin for Thesis. Well, it’s here.

What is Affinity?

I wanted to build a Thesis skin that looked good as a blog or a small business website, didn’t rely on too many graphics and didn’t mess with Thesis’ awesome typography rules. Affinity is the result.

Here’s what you can expect out of the box:

  • Clean layouts
  • Uses the WordPress 3.0 menu system
  • Support for dropdown menus and ‘No Sidebars’ templates
  • Multimedia Box Tabbed widgets (switch them on/off in the Thesis Design Options panel)
  • Loads of WordPress shortcodes for social media buttons, content boxes and content styling
  • Personal support with Installation and Customization services.

What you don’t get (yet):

  • An Options panel. This will probably come in a later release.
  • Color  packs. Likewise, the next version will probably have a few color options.

Download Affinity

If you’d like to download a copy you’ll need a WordPress site with an existing version of Thesis 1.8. Here’s the link to the demo and downloads:

Glad you like it Alan, let me know where you launch it so I can see what it looks like with real content added.

I like the use of heading tags h1,h2.. in this. Almost all themes are having same H1 for the home and internal pages but it is having different for home and internal post/article pages.

Dave,

Would you have the time to update this for Thesis 1.8.2?

Will this be getting an update?

Looks like your “demo and downloads” link is just redirecting to your home page. Are you doing a redesign… or is there another link elsewhere? Thanks
